EDITOR, Daily News:

Alaska House District 36 voters have an important decision/vote to make in the upcoming election on Nov. 3 in regards to who to select as their District 36 state representative.

Our families’ support is going to our current state Rep. Dan Ortiz.

If you look at Dan's record of representing our district in the past six years, you will see that it's an exemplary record that speaks to true representation of all the people and communities that are a part of District 36.

From Wrangell down to Hyder and from Ketchikan to Metlakatla and over to Hydaburg, Dan Ortiz has worked hard and been effective at representing our district. He makes himself available and accessible to any and all constituents who seek his assistance. He is an effective advocate in the Legislature for the needs of each community. And perhaps his greatest strength is how he engages with each community in a variety of ways, working hard to communicate about the issues in the Legislature and how those issues affect our lives. For me the choice is clear, I'm all for re-electing Dan Ortiz as our state representative.
