Shirley Ann Entwit, 70, died Dec. 15, 2020 in Ketchikan.
She was born Shirley Ann Baker on June 8, 1950, in McMinnville, Oregon.
She resided in Washington State and Alaska. She attended Ketchikan High School, and was married in Ketchikan.
Mrs. Entwit retired from the Alaska Marine Highway System, in which she worked in the officers mess.
She was a member of the Ketchikan Softball Association, and the North Tongass Community Club.
Mrs. Entwit enjoyed deep-sea fishing, computer puzzles, musical concerts, traveling with family and being a grandmother.
“She loved coaching softball, and watching her grandkids play sports,” her family writes.
Mrs. Entwit was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf Entwit; parents, Johna and Rena Baker; brothers, Fred Wood and John Baker; sister, Doris McClatchy; and son, Billy Wade Yates.
She is survived by her sisters, Lois Recktenwald and Rena Duke; son, Ronald Rodger Yates II; daughter, Angela Entwit; step-children, Olaf Jason Entwit, Elisabeth Shay and Katie Fallin, and their children; nephews, Joseph and Bryan Duke, and Timmy and Luke Baker; nieces, Becky Baker, and Rena, Terry and Suzie Wood; grandchildren, Ronald Roger Yates III, Kimmy Hedricks, Jennie Yates, and Rena and Maxx Martinez; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 at Bayside Cemetery.
Mrs. Entwit’s remains will be intered at Bayside Cemetery.
