Ronda Erline Sallup, 68, died Aug. 5, 2020, unexpectedly at her home in Hansville, Washington.
She was born Dec. 16, 1951 in Ketchikan to Ronald and Eleanor (Eilertsen) Farstad.
She grew up in Seattle, and graduated from Ballard High School in 1970. She married Paul Sallup on Dec. 19, 1970, at Ballard First Lutheran Church.
The Sallups made their home in Ketchikan from 1971 to 2006. During those years, Mrs. Sallup worked for Tongass Realty, Ketchikan Pulp Co., and Ketchikan Public Utilities.
She was a member of Ketchikan First Lutheran Church.
After moving to Hansville in 2006, the Sallups both worked for Kitsap Propane before retiring.
Mrs. salup enjoyed working in her garden.
“Ronda was a friend to everyone she met,” her family writes. “She was a second mom to a handful of special kids that she loved as her own.”
Mrs. Sallup was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; brother, Ken Riley; sister-in-law Marlene "Tootsie" Beard; and brother-in-law, Stanley Sallup.
She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Paul Sallup of Hansville; sister, Coreen Hadland of Mesquite, Nevada; sisters-in-law, Dixie Riley of Ketchikan and Suzie Sallup of Hansville; nieces, Kenda (Scott) Kline of Ketchikan, Kari Hadland of Mesquite, Heidi (John) Glen of Albany, Oregon; nephews, J.P. Sallup of Everett, Washington, Kyle Hadland of San Bernardino, California, Chris (Wendy) Riley of Ketchikan, Eric Riley of Ketchikan and Shaun Beard of West Chester, Pennsylvania; several great and great great nieces and nephews; cousins, Linda Transki of Ketchikan, Lee Farstad of Fairbanks, Arne (Barbara) Farstad of Kent, Washington, Nick (Shannon) Farstad of Ketchikan; and friend, Dawn (Dave) Shapansky Semeraro of Mukilteo, Washington.
