Robert William Galvin, 82, died Jan. 23, 2020, in Ketchikan.
He was born Nov. 8, 1937, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Mr. Galvin served with the U.S. Coast Guard for 20 years, retiring in 1975. He also worked with and retired from the Ketchkan Port and Harbors Department, and Alaska Department of Corrections.
Mr Galvin was married on March 18, 2014, in Ketchikan.
He was a member of the VFW, Eagles and American Legion.
“Robert was a wonderful husband, father and friend,” his family writes. “He will never be forgotten.”
Mr. Galvin was preceded in death by his parents, Robert John Galvin and Bernice Galvin; sisters, Mary and Joanne; and first wife, Donna.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Durkin-Galvin; sister, Helen Hess; son, Richard Jon Galvin; daughter, Raeline Galvin-Bills; grandson, Brandon Galvin; granddaughter, Richelle and Dave Bowers of Nevada, and their children, Brandon and Lilie; and many great-grandchildren.
Mr. Galvin’s remains will be cremated.
