Leslie Jackson Sr., 74, died on May 26, 2021, in Ketchikan.
He was born on April 8, 1947.
He was married to Frieda Rose on April 27, 1974.
Mr. Jackson resided in Ketchikan, Wrangell and Metlakatla.
He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 302, working on projects such as the Alyeska Pipeline and the Swan Lake Project. He also worked as a commercial fisherman.
Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Eagles Club and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302.
"Les loved to spend time with friends, he enjoyed the simple things in life," his family writes. "He will be greatly missed by all who knew him."
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda Rose Jackson.
He is survived by his sons, Les Jackson Jr. (Chelle Brendible) of Metlakatla and Trinity Jackson Sr. (Samantha Yeltatzie) of Metlakatla; daughter, Sharon Wagner of Ketchikan; and grandchildren in Metlakatla.
A service was held on May 28.
Mr. Jackson's remains were interred at the Metlakatla Cemetery.
