Jakob Allen Washburn, 24, died unexpectedly on Aug. 15, 2021, in Whitehall, Montana.
He was born on March 10, 1997, to Wendy Leona Goyette and Dwayne Curtis Washburn at Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho.
He spent most of his childhood in Sandpoint before moving to Ketchikan in 2012, where he would graduate from Revilla High School in May of 2017, before returning to Idaho to start his adult life.
Enthusiastic about life, Jakob worked construction jobs and trained in UFC fighting.
He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, spending time with his friends and family, and his dog, Rosie.
“He was kind to those that crossed his path and had a wonderful outgoing personality,” his family writes. “Jakob's contagious smile will be severely missed by all of his loved ones and friends. While we have lost a beloved son, brother and friend, Heaven has gained its most beautiful angel.”
Jakob Washburn was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Patricia Goyette; great-grandmother, Mary Labret; great-grandfather, Chuck Robinson; great-grandfather, John Labret; and cousins, Dean Powell and Johnny Herriman.
He is survived by his parents, Wendy Goyette and Dwayne Washburn; sister Jasmine Goyette-Thompson; brother, Johnathan Washburn; niece, Somiya Scott; nephew, Javante Scott; great-grandfather, Edward Goyette; grandparents, Thomas and Katie Goyette; grandparents, Penny and Joe Chamberline; grandfather, Gerald Washburn; grandparents, Frank and Marie Moore (Labret); and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jakob's 25th birthday celebration of life will be at 6 p.m. March 10, 2022, at the Moose Lodge, 224 Water St.
