Harry James Elie Jr., 61, died Jan. 17, 2020, in Ketchikan,
He was born May 21, 1958, in Ketchikan.
In 2005, Mr. Elie moved to Anchorage, where he resided until returning to Ketchikan in 2015.
Mr. Elie was disabled, and retired.
He enjoyed reading, cards and watching war movies.
“He was a good brother and had a beautiful laugh, even as a baby,” his family writes. “He loved to read — mostly SciFi, loved to watch war movies and comedies; his cackle could be heard throughout the house. He was the best of us and will be missed by all who knew him.”
Mr. Elie was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn “Dot” Seinke; father, Harry Elie; stepfather, William “Steve” Steinke; brothers, Mark Elie and Kenneth Elie; NaNa (grandmother), Nellie Maddix; uncles and aunts, Paul Cogo, Hazel Cogo Graham, Harold Cogo and Shirley Anne Cogo; nephew, Marco Elie; and niece, Brandy Dupree.
He is survived by his siblings, Lena Wait, Alisa Elie, Patrick Elie, Nancy Rosenblad, Stephen Elie, Timothy Elie and Pamela Graff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
No services are planned.
Mr. Elie’s remains will be cremated.
