Eileen D. Luckey, 75, died April 28, 2020, in Anchorage.
She was born Sept. 12, 1944, in Ketchikan. She was the daughter of the late Winifred and George Mather Sr.
She graduated from Ketchikan High School, and then attended beauty school in California where she obtained training for licensed beautician/stylist.
She maintained her license for decades in Ketchikan, operating out of her home. She retired as a steward from the Alaska Marine Highway System, and was an active member of the union.
“Eileen was known for her beauty, style and grit,” her family writes. “(She) loved visiting with family and friends and she stood out with her infectious laugh and one liners. ‘True Story!’”
Eileen Luckey was preceded in death by her brothers, Victor Paul Mather and George Mather Jr.
She is survived by sisters, Stephanie Rainwater-Sande of Tacoma, Washington, and Georgia Finau of Juneau; daughter, Caroline Luckey of Ketchikan; son, Greg Luckey of Ketchikan; grandchildren, Christopher (Rachel) Grams of Ketchikan, Justina (John II) Richmond of Oahu, Hawaii, Rick (Jasmin H Please) Grams of Los Angeles, and Danielle (Raymond) Guthrie of Oahu, and Charlotte and Skylar Luckey of Ketchikan; great-grandchildren, Owen Grams of Ketchikan, Amelia, John Thomas III, and Avery Richmond, and Udell Guthrie of Oahu, Shawn Crabtree-Grams of Ketchikan and Adam Frances of New Mexico; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life, and the placement of Eileen Luckey’s cremated remains at Bayview Cemetery, will occur at a later date to be announced.
