Dustin G. Willard, 33, died Jan. 28, 2021, in Ketchikan.
He was born on July 25, 1987, in Ketchikan.
He resided in Hydaburg from 1987 to 1989, and in Ketchikan from 1989 to 2007.
He attended Houghtaling Elementary School, Schoenbar Middle School and Ketchikan High School, and earned a GED.
In 2007, he moved to Shoreline, Washington, where he resided before returning to Ketchikan in 2010.
Mr. Willard was a manager of an Ace Hardware and worked multiple retail positions, “but his favorite occupation was as a Burger Flipper at Burger Queen,” his family writes.
“Dustin's passions always involved crazy adventures, music festivals like Sasquatch and Coachella, roller coasters, his dog Thunder, family dinner every night, and his nieces and nephews,” his family writes. “He will be fondly remembered for his love for music, eating the best snacks, ultimate hang sessions with the homies, and watching the Mariners. He enjoyed his family, friends and keeping it real.”
Mr. Willard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Browne Willard; Chinnah and Nana, Georgianna and Julius Douglas; aunt, Arlene Jewell; and uncle, Greg Willard.
He is survived by his parents, Diane and Larry Willard; sister, Gianna Willard Flanery; brother-in-law, Tim Flanery; niece, Mallory Willard; nephews, Javen and Kevin Willard; uncles and aunts, Elvon and Roxanne Douglas, David and Oxanna Douglas, Daryl and Carol Douglas, Sam Willard Sr., Fran Koenig and Browne Willard Jr.; and many cousins and second cousins, including Michael and Mayra and Anaïs Douglas, Daniel and Laura and Isla Douglas, Christopher Douglas, Damien Douglas, Daryl Douglas Jr., and Elena Douglas.
Because of COVID-19, a delayed celebration of life is tenatively scheduled for Dustin Willard’s birthday on July 25, 2021.
Mr. Willard’s remains have been cremated.
