Christina Katherine Mullenax, 87, died Sept. 25, 2021, in Ketchikan.
She was born Christina Nelson on Aug. 21, 1934, in Craig. She attended Mount Edgecumbe High School.
She resided in Ketchikan for most of her life. In October 1956, she married Samuel Mullenax at the Presbyterian Church in Ketchikan.
Mrs. Mullenax worked as a nurse, and then was a homemaker in later years.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of the Ketchikan Indian Community, Sealaska, and the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.
Mrs. Mullenax enjoyed crocheting, knitting, Bingo and church activities.
Mrs. Mullenax was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Nelson; husband, Samuel Mullenax; son, Harvey Mullenax; grandson, Samson Mullenax; and granddaughter, Selena Mullenax.
She is survived by her brothers, Dan (Rosemary) Nelson of Ketchikan, and Michael Nelson of Mexico; sister, Cheryl McFarlane of Washington; sons, Emil (Rose) Mullenax, John Mullenax and Ken Mullenax, all of Ketchikan; and grandchildren, Miranda, Cindy, Eliase, Joel, Russell, Thomas and Kristin.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at the Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. David Owsley. A reception will follow downstairs.
Mrs. Mullenax’s remains will be cremated.
