Bruce Ian Maldonado, 56, died July 13, 2021, in Niger, West Africa.
He was born on Nov. 1, 1964, in Maryland.
He worked as a special agent with three federal agencies. After retiring, he moved to Prince of Wales Island, where he worked with the Klawock EMS Squad and as a lab technician with PeaceHealth in Craig.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Maldonado is survived by his children, Amanda and Sean (Meghan); step-daughter, Salinas (Cameron); four grandchildren; sister, Monique (Sandy); mother, Muriel Jelsma; father and hunting partner, J-P (Cindy); and aunts, Gisele (Ernest) and Lucy Lorette and Betty Kellogg.
A celebration of life will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, at the Klawock Voc-Tech Center.
