Brett Mackie

Brett Alexander Mackie, the beloved son of Forrest Mackie and Carol (McCall) Mackie Anderson and the much-loved brother of travis and Chantel Mackie, died at the age of 38 on July 6, 2022, at his home in Ketchikan.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 7 Creek St, Ketchikan, Alaska 99901 on July 28, 2022, at 5:30 p.m.

Anyone who know and loved Brett is encouraged to come and share their stories and memories, and to say farewell.

Brett was born in Ketchikan to Forrest Mackie, and Carol (McCall) Mackie on July 28, 1983. He attended Ketchikan High School and graduated from the Alaska Military Youth Academy located at Joint base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, in 2000. He was a member of Carpenters, Local 2247, and a business partner of Ketchikan Premier Construction.

Brett as a true son of Alaska. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking, and appreciated the beautiful scenery of Ketchikan and Pacific Beach, Washington.

Brett is survived by his father, Forrest Mackie of Ketchikan; mother, Carol (McCall) Anderson & stepfather, Ivan Anderson of Pacific Beach, Washington; his siblings, Travis Mackie of Marysville, WA, and Chantel Mackie of Seattle, WA. Uncles & Aunts; Bill & Jean Mackie, Jerry & Annie (McCall) Swanson, Arliss McCall & Jesse Gomez, Michael R. McCall & Christy Davis. Cousins; Kris & Elizabeth Mackie, Wendy (Mackie) Stidd & sons Kobe & Ryder Stidd, Jen (McCall) Greene & sons Orion Bos & Ellie Cox, Justin McCall & daughter Caelin McCall, Michael E. McCall & daughters Rosalie (McCall) Harter & Jamie McCall. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alexander (Sandy) & Stella Mackie, longtime residents of Ketchikan.

No service is being held, and his cremated remains will return with his mother to Pacific Beach, Washington.
