Brandon Scott Larson, 34, died Dec. 11, 2020, in Ketchikan.
He was born July 31, 1986, in Tacoma, Washington, and moved to Ketchikan with his family at age 3.
He attended Houghtaling Elementary and Schoenbar Middle School, and graduated from Ketchikan High School in 2004.
“Brandon was a talented athlete who grew up playing baseball, basketball and football, and developed strong friendships and ties in the community throughout his life,” his family writes.
After high school, he spent much of his time living and working in Seattle.
He enjoyed reading, writing, collecting books, literature, and conversing about topics like philosophy, politics, psychology, poetry and history.
“Brandon was a friendly, easy-going and intelligent young man with a big heart and a genuine kindness towards others,” his family writes.
Mr. Larson had a deep and enduring love for his family, was a devoted son to his parents, and was lifelong best friends with his two sisters, his family writes.
“Brandon will be fiercely missed by his family each and every day,” his family writes.
Mr. Larson is survived by his mother, Cindy Larson; father, Christopher Larson; sisters, Danielle Larson and Brianna Gunn; and brother, Michael Orton.
A memorial will be held in Ketchikan, with details to be shared with Mr. Larson’s friends and family as they become available.
