Annie Christine Allain, 97, died on June 6, 2021, in Ketchikan.
She was born Annie Christine Harris on June 6, 1924, in Masset, British Columbia.
She attended the Coqualeetza Residential School in Sardis, British Columbia, and the Wrangell Institute in Wrangell.
She resided in Masset from 1924 to 1930, and in Sardis from 1930 to 1937. She lived in Ketchikan from 1937 until 1939, when she moved to Wrangell. She returned to Ketchikan that same year.
She was married on Nov. 22, 1944, in Ketchikan.
Mrs. Allain was a homemaker, and also worked on her husband's fishing vessel, the "Sharyn A."
She was a member of the Episcopal Church, and a member of the Women of the Moose.
Her family writes that she enjoyed "lots and lots of knitting."
Mrs. Allain was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharyn Allain; and husband, Edmond Allain.
She is survived by her sons, Earl Allain of Ketchikan and Harvey (Debbie) Allain of Sammamish, Washington; granddaughters, Wende DeBoer of Ketchikan, Kirsten (Ian) Barlow of Sacramento, Gina Allain of Renton, Washington, and Renee Allain of Sammamish; and great-grandsons, Myles, Ryder, Bennett and Cash.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Allain's remains will be interred at the Bayview Cemetery mausoleum.
