Adrian James Rusch-Guthrie, 43, died Jan. 16, 2020, in Tumwater, Washington.
He was born Oct. 8, 1976, in Great Falls, Montana.
He was a Raven L’eeneidi of T’eel’Hi’t (Dog Salmon House). His Haida name was Dax hei’ gang. His Cree name was Wee Sookaa Ki Maaset.
He attended school in Klawock, Ketchikan, Oregon and New Mexico, and attended the University of Alaska and University of Washington.
“He resided in many states, but Alaska was always his home, especially Klawock and Ketchikan,” his family writes.
Mr. Rusch-Guthie was a project manager in construction.
He enjoyed music, drawing, subsistence hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Rusch-Guthrie was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Rock; grandparents, Ed and Mary Rock, and James and Helen Rusch; and great-grandparents, Albert and Dora Rusch, and George and Christine Edenso.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra J. Rusch of Klawock; daughter, Adriann A. Rusch of Ketchikan; sons, Cameron J. Rusch, Wyatt L. Rusch and Robert S. Rusch of Raeford, North Carolina; brother, Edward L. Rusch of Great Falls; nephews, Rickey NJ Rusch of Juneau, and Ryan DK Rusch of Klawock; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A potluck celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at the Ketchikan Presbyterian Church, 2711 Second Ave.
Mr. Rusch-Guthrie’s remains will be cremated.
