KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The Ketchikan High School swim and dive team will host several schools for its first meet of the season on Friday and Saturday.

Juneau-Douglas, Thunder Mountain, Petersburg and Wrangell high schools will be in town to compete at the Gateway Aquatic Center during the two-day event.

Craig and Sitka high schools were originally scheduled to also participate, but have bowed out.

As the Ketchikan School District’s operating risk level is “high” for the week of Aug. 29-Sept. 4, spectators will not be allowed inside the aquatic center during the swim and dive meet.

Friday’s meet begins at 6 p.m., with Saturday’s competition starting at 12 p.m.
