KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The ASAA/First National Bank Alaska Swim & Dive State Championship Finals took place at Bartlett High School on Saturday, with several competitors from across Southeast competing.

Ketchikan High School’s Trevor Dash participated in the boys’ 100-yard butterfly finals, placing eighth. The First City swimmer finished the event in 56.22 seconds — four seconds behind the leader, Chaz VanSlyke, from Juneau-Douglas High School.

Thunder Mountain High School’s Patrick Foy won a pair of individual events — the boys’ 200-yard IM and 100-yard breaststroke.

Craig High School’s Wes Mank finished second in the boys’ 100-yard backstroke, in 53.36 seconds. Mank also placed seventh in the boys’ 50-yard freestyle, in 22.58 seconds.

Craig’s Ethan Dill finished fourth in the boys’ 100-yard freestyle, in 48.72 seconds.

Juneau-Douglas’ Emma Fellman finished fourth in the girls’ 200-yard IM, in two minutes, 12.88 seconds. The mark was seven seconds behind the leader — U.S. Olympic gold medalist, Lydia Jacoby. Jacoby swims with the Seward High School squad, and finished the event in two minutes, 5.70 seconds.

Fellman also placed fifth in the girls’ 100-yard breaststroke — Jacoby’s other event. Fellman finished in 1:06.38. Jacoby did it in 59.56 seconds.

Thunder Mountain’s Jamie Heidersdorf placed eighth in the event, finishing in 1:09.96.
