Schoenbar Wrestling Southeast Championships

KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The Schoenbar Middle School wrestling team closed out its season over President's Day Weekend. Schoenbar was one of 13 teams to compete at the Southeast Alaska Middle School Championships in Juneau, placing second behind Floyd Dryden Middle School.

Schoenbar scored 230.5 points, overall. Floyd Dryden tallied 303.5 points.

Schoenbar was squeezed between the two Juneau middle schools, as Dzantik'i Heeni finished third with 195 total points.

Craig Middle School placed seventh, scoring 145.5 points. Charles R. Leask Middle School, from Metlakatla, finished ninth overall, tallying 46 points.

Five Knights placed first in their respective weight brackets.

Schoenbar's Titan Linne won the 90-pound weight bracket, and Dawson Larna placed first in the 100-pound weight class. Hunter Cowan won the 110-pound weight bracket, and Jared Rhoads placed first in the 210-pound weight class.

The Knights' Paul Thompson won the 275-pound weight bracket, as well.

 Craig's Bryant Holloway and Eli Mank placed first in their respective weight classes.

Holloway won the 133-pound weight bracket; Mank won the 140-pound weight class.
