KETCHIKAN (KDN) — Just as they had done last week, the Schoenbar Middle School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams on Tuesday hosted the Ketchikan Charter School teams, as well as the Ketchikan High School freshmen squads.

The midweek matchups gave each set of teams the opportunity to get some games under their belts.

Schoenbar’s squads split the contests, as the boys’ and girls’ B teams defeated the charter school squads, respectively.

Schoenbar’s A teams fell to the Kayhi freshmen squads.

Game recaps for the Schoenbar girls’ games against KCS and Kayhi will be in a forthcoming issue.

Here are recaps of the boys’ games:

Kayhi Freshmen Boys 56,

Schoenbar Boys A 29

Kayhi’s Marcus Stockhausen and Trey Colbert both scored double digits before the first half ended on Tuesday, and Jonathan Scoblic joined them before the game was over.

The trio of Kayhi freshmen led the boys’ team over Schoenbar’s boys’ A squad 56-29. Colbert led the way with 14 points.

Both Colbert and Stockhausen had 10 points in the first half. Scoblic tallied eight before the break. Both Stockhausen and Scoblic finished with a dozen tallies.
