KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The Ketchikan Post 3 American Legion ballclub starts the state tournament with a matchup against South Anchorage Post 4 on Thursday in Anchorage. First pitch is slated for 7:45 p.m.

South Anchorage carries the top seed in the state tournament. Ketchikan is seeded fifth, but rides a five-game winning streak entering Thursday’s matchup.

Following its matchup against South Anchorage, Ketchikan is lined up to play Dimond Post 21 on Friday, and Palmer Post 15 on Saturday. Both of those games are scheduled for 2:15 p.m. The four teams makeup the Denali Pool, while Service Post 28, Eagle River, Chugiak Post 33 and Juneau Post 25 are in the Alyeska Pool.

The state tournament runs through Tuesday.
