KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The Lady Kings volleyball team will have a quick turnaround following their trip to Anchorage this past weekend.
After placing third in their bracket at the Spiketacular tournament on Saturday, the Ketchikan High School volleyball squad will host teams from Mt. Edgecumbe, Juneau-Douglas and Sitka high schools this week. Matches against Mt. Edgecumbe begin on Wednesday, and will continue on Thursday.
Juneau-Douglas and Sitka will arrive in the First City for a set of weekend games, slated to start Friday afternoon. Matchups against both teams will finish on Saturday, before both squads travel back home.
Spectators will be allowed inside Clarke Cochrane Gymnasium during this week’s scheduled games against all three schools. However, only those individuals who present tickets will be allowed to enter.
A limited number of tickets are being distributed by the Lady Kings’ volleyball program, and are reserved for close family members or friends. The limited number of tickets ensures spectators will be able to socially distance while seated on both sides of the upper-level bleachers. Masks also will be required while inside Kayhi. Tickets will not be sold at the gate, and during days when school is in session, spectators will only be allowed for matches beginning after 3:15 p.m.
Varsity matchups will be livestreamed at kgbsd.org/live, and on KPU channel 685.
