KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The Ketchikan High School cross country team will be running its first meet of the season at Ward Lake on Saturday. And just like the Ketchikan Running and Walking Club has conducted its races this summer, Kayhi will be participating virtually.

The cross country meet is officially marked down as Juneau-Douglas High School’s home race. Teams throughout Southeast will be participating on their own course.

Kayhi boys will get set and go at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Kayhi girls will get on their mark soon after the boys finish.

The road that stretches around Ward Lake will not be closed and trails won’t be marked off, so drivers and hikers should be aware of the official cross country meet that will be underway around Ward Lake and Frog Pond.

Spectators are welcome. Social distancing and masks are encouraged.
