KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The Ketchikan Gymnastics Club kicked off its 2021-22 season virtually on Oct. 1, as the team hosted the Pink Meet at its location near Ward Cove.

Twenty-seven hometown gymnasts competed in the four divisions — bronze, silver, gold and platinum.

The KGC was the only team to participate, and 100% of the fees were donated to the Cornelia A. “Pinky” Brindle Cancer Resource Center.

With the community risk level for the novel coronavirus at ‘high,’ only one spectator per participant was allowed entry, and masks were worn. But the team livestreamed the event on its Facebook page.
