KETCHIKAN (KDN) — Bob Caverly has won the eighth week of the Ketchikan Daily News football contest, correctly predicting the outcomes of 17 out of a possible 21 NFL and college football games this past weekend. Caverly will receive the weekly prize of a three-month subscription to the Daily News.

Along with the other top finishers of the week, Caverly also will be eligible to compete for the grand prize — two tickets to the Seattle Seahawks’ game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Dec. 5, in Seattle.

In addition to the two game tickets, the grand prize winner will receive round-trip air transportation between Ketchikan and Seattle via Alaska Airlines, three nights hotel accommodation at the Seattle Homewood Suites and spending money, courtesy of NAPA Auto Parts.

Rounding out the top 10 for Week 8 were Bob Sasser (17), Matthew Williams, Jim Kosmos, Rachel Bowman, Mike Sasser and Bruce Christensen (all 16), and Bob McCoy, James Bellarosa and Virginia Adams (all 15).

The Daily News football contest covers games played for 10 weeks, concluding on Nov. 14-15. Games for Nov. 20-21 will be mailed to the weekly qualifiers to determine the grand prize winner.
