The Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council is offering two events this Friday evening, the Celebration of the Sea Art Walk and the opening reception for artist Ray Troll’s solo exhibit at the Main Street Gallery, titled “The Fabric of Life.”
The Art Walk and the exhibit opening are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
Troll’s exhibit will feature his artwork exploring the “Patterns of the Natural World.”
According to Arts Council information, Troll’s exhibit will feature new pen and ink drawings designed for textiles, clothing, wallpaper, upholstery and more.

“Artist Ray Troll explores the concept of repeating patterns — how we make sense of our world. Inspired from the natural world, each piece follows a theme, such as salmon, sharks, plankton, birds, dinosaurs and life in Alaska.”
The Art Walk features downtown businesses that open their doors to visitors to browse their wares, chat with friends and to enjoy refreshments.
Also planned for Friday night as part of the Art Walk is the “Blessing of the Fleet,” planned to start at 6:30 p.m. at Berth 2/Ryus Float.
The Fabric of Life exhibit will be opening at the Main Street Gallery, which is located at 330 Main St.
