It’s a New Year! Now what?
Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on those things.
The things of last year were not all that pleasant. But in the middle of it all, there were some great reports of families reconnecting; children coming home that had been gone for many years! Relationships mended, acts of love, compassion, mercy given and extended, people reaching out and delivering food, clothing, firewood, etc., etc.!
It needs to continue into this year, as well.
Philippians 2, 1-3 says: “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”
You know you could just keep reading this chapter, but most of all, put it into action! if you’ve been already doing these things, keep it up!
Our city, state and country needs us to be the example, be the mentor, showing the love of Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour! Be the doers, not just the hearers, people of Ketchikan!
Good bless you in the coming year and give you much joy, peace and love!
