KETCHIKAN (KDN) — Following a statewide mandate announced Tuesday by Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s administration, local restaurants have changed their services to follow recommendations for preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Effective at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, businesses that serve food or beverages suspended dine-in services. Many local restaurants continue to offer take-out, delivery or curbside options.
As of Wednesday afternoon, local food service businesses were planning services as follows.
Annabelle’s Famous Keg and Chowder House is open to curbside and delivery service. A drive-up menu also is being developed, and will allow customers to pick up “fast food” style items via curbside service.
Sweet Mermaids will be open for the reduced hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the exception of Saturday, when it will open at 8 a.m. Sit-down dining is suspended, and there will be no more than five customers allowed at once in the building to order. Delivery service now will be available between the areas of the U.S. Coast Guard Base Ketchikan and Bar Harbor.
AJ’s Gourmet Burgers continues drive-up services, but has closed the drive-up window. Customers instead will pay over the phone and have their order dropped off curbside.
The New York Cafe is open for take-out from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., but will be closed Mondays in accordance with winter hours of operation.
Edgewater Inn is closed until Monday. It will reopen on Monday with the option of carry-out meals only.
Green Coffee Bean Company is open for pick-up only.
Oceanview Restaurant is continuing take-out and delivery service, and will offer a 10% discount to customers.
The Landing Restaurant is open for take-out and delivery services between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Subway’s Dock Street location will continue operating with normal business hours for take-out service.
McDonald’s drive-through services are unchanged, but its lobby is closed to the public.
New China is continuing take-out and delivery services.
Godfather’s Pizza continues to provide pick-up and delivery services.
Taco Time continues to have take-out meals.
Gold Pan Pizza offers take-out.
Burger Queen remains open for pick-up and delivery services.
Good Fortune is open for to-go and delivery services.
Alaska Crepe Co. was closed Wednesday evening, with a sign on the window saying “Check Facebook for times.”
Jeremiah’s Pub is closed until further notice.
Pioneer Cafe is closed until further notice.
Pizza Mill is closed until further notice.
