Bebs Hack hands candy to the preschoolers at the Pioneer Home  on Monday morning. Staff photo by Jared Boekenhauer

The Ketchikan Pioneer Home was abuzz with activity on Monday morning as children dressed as witches, superheroes, and skeletons walked the halls trick-or-treating at the doors of the Pioneer Home residents.

The children who participated were all preschoolers at the home's preschool. The event takes place yearly, and has not occurred in its normal fashion since 2019. During COVID-19, the home did a "trick-or-treat chute" where the residents inside the home dropped candy down a chute to children waiting outside.
