KETCHIKAN (KDN) —  Ketchikan High School's academic decathlon team is set to compete in its second and last regional meet of the 2020-21 season before the state tournament in late February.

Kayhi will be competing virtually against Craig High School and Juneau-Douglas High School from Wednesday through Friday, team coach Peter Stanton wrote in an email to the Daily News.

"We'll (the team) follow the same schedule as last time, with events going on after school each day, concluding with interviews and speeches and a Zoom meeting announcing the results on Friday evening," according to Stanton.

The theme of the 2021 AcDc season is The Cold War. Students have been studying the era while competing in meets with categories relating to the theme. The categories include art, music, social studies, economics, science, essay, interview, literature and math.

The Alaska state AcDc tournament will be held virtually on Feb. 25 and 26.
