Theresa Glenz, 59, died  Oct. 25, 2019, in Bellingham, Washington

She was born on May 22,1960 at Ketchikan General Hospital. Her parents were the late Edward and Marian Glenz of Meyers Chuck, who were the daughter of Buckshot and Irene Woolery, and son of Edward Sr. and Helena Glenz.

Theresa Glenz spent the summers in Port Protection with her grandparents, who operated the first trading post in the area, known as The BS Trading Post. She lived in Edna Bay for 12 years and fished commercially before settling in Ketchikan in 1999. She volunteered at North Tongass Volunteer Fire Department for several years.

“Theresa loved helping other people in any way possible,” her family writes. “Theresa enjoyed camping, gardening, sewing, knitting, canning foods, quilting, crafting with her grandkids and spending time with her grandchildren.”

“Theresa will be missed by many people,” her family writes.

Theresa Glenz is survived by her husband, Jack Rodgers; children, Melanie Villa, David Otte, Jake (Sirena) Rodgers and Jasper Rodgers; grandchildren, Kaitlin Villa, Anna Otte, Chevell Marcano, Kalina, Hunter, Alex and Everleigh Rodgers, and Sawyer and Finnley Jones;’ aunts, Lauran Woolery, Clarie Moeser and family, Alvina Glenz, and Barbara Host and family; uncle, Gary Glenz; cousins, Allen Rooney, Caity Shafer and family, Gary Glenz and Glenda Glenz; brothers and sisters-in-law: Betty Rodgers, Jim and Debbie Rodgers, Dewey and Janet Rodgers, and Ron and Judy Slattery; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
