It was a clean sweep for the Ketchikan High School Lady Kings volleyball squad at Metlakatla High School on Friday.
Both Ketchikan’s JV and varsity squads stole the show, as they each won their respective best-of-five series 3-0. It was the Miss Chiefs first home game of the season.
Ketchikan’s varsity squad won the first set 25-16, boosting its confidence after dropping three straight sets to Sitka High School on Oct. 26.
The Lady Kings’ varsity team continued to roll along, winning 25-19 and 25-13 in the second and third frames.
Ketchikan’s JV squad won its three sets 25-15, 25-15 and 25-12.
The two teams set up a pair of endowment games for the weekend, giving Metlakatla an opportunity to honor its senior players.
The Lady Kings and Miss Chiefs will meet once more on the volleyball court on Saturday morning.
Following the match, Ketchikan will return home, and gear up for the Region V tournament set to begin in Juneau next week.
