KETCHIKAN (KDN) — Laura Lowell and Stewart Peterson were the Week 1 winners of the Ketchikan Daily News football contest, after correctly predicting the outcomes of 16 out of a possible 21 NFL and college football games this past weekend. Both Lowell and Peterson will receive the weekly prize of a three-month subscription to the Daily News.

Along with the other top finishers of the week, the duo will be eligible to compete for the grand prize — two tickets to the Seattle Seahawks’ Monday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings on Dec. 2.

In addition to two tickets, the grand prize winner will receive round-trip air transportation between Ketchikan and Seattle via Alaska Airlines, three nights of hotel accommodations at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel and spending money, courtesy of NAPA Auto Parts.

Rounding out the top 10 for Week 1 were Tony Azure (15), Kathleen Nelson (15), Virginia Starr (15), Lonnie Killian (15), Marty West (15), Debi White (15), Darin Perue (15) and Sheila Stamm (15).

The Daily News football contest covers games played for 10 weeks, concluding on Nov. 9-10. Games for Nov. 16-17 will be mailed to the weekly qualifiers to determine the grand prize winner.
