Robyn Cleo Buchanan, 30, died Aug. 2, 2019, in Seattle.
She was born April 10, 1975, in Anchorage. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 2005, and studied marine biology at Sheldon Jackson in 2006.
She resided in several Southeast Alaska communities, beginning with five years in Juneau, five years in Craig, another five years in Juneau, 10 years in Klawock, and, most recently, five years in Ketchikan.
She was employed as a cook. She was a member of the Church of God.
She enjoyed basket weaving, Native art, good friends, cooking, canning, and catching and smoking fish.
“She was loved by so many,” her family writes.
Robyn Buchanan was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Cleo Booth; father, Robert Leo Buchanan III; mother, Charlotte Ann Buchanan; and brother, George V. Carle Jr.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Scott Carle of Juneau; sisters, Elizabeth (Robert) Carle and Garrie Dawn “April” (Art Shayen) Thomas; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
A service will be held in Klawock at a later date, to be determined.
Her remains will be interred in Klawock.
