Little League Baseball — Seniors

KETCHIKAN (KDN) — State Farm jumped ahead of Southeast Air and Sea with two runs in the first inning and never looked back during Wednesday’s contest at Walker Field. And State Farm won 9-5.

Josh Gentry had a multi-hit day, with a pair of singles, and Sean Guthrie knocked in three RBIs to help State Farm to its win.

Guthrie and Brendyn Brown both hit doubles. And Luke Murdock and Chase Hanis also recorded singles, as State Farm scored its nine runs on six hits.

Hanis, Guthrie and Murdock all pitched in relief of State Farm’s Dylan Nedzwecky.

Nedzwecky was awarded the win, striking out six of the 11 batters he faced, while only walking one. The foursome combined to strike out 14 batters.

Southeast Air and Sea broke through in the fifth inning, plating four runs. But by that point, State Farm had already built a nine-run lead.

Southeast Air and Sea tallied its fifth run in the sixth frame, and the game ended an inning later.

Southeast Air and Sea scored its five runs on one hit — a single off the bat of Colton Shull.

Shull and Kyan Klinger both knocked in a pair of RBIs. And Carson Cowan also had an RBI.

Little League Baseball — Majors

KETCHIKAN (KDN) — Tongass Trading Company’s Joseph Larson had a multi-hit day, and was awarded the win in Tongass Trading’s 10-0 victory against Taquan Air on Tuesday.

With a bat in his hands, Larson hit a single and a double. He also had an RBI and two runs scored. And from the pitchers’ mound, Larson struck out six of the eight batters he faced.

Tongass Trading’s Kain Dalton also hit a single. Clarence Benton smacked a double, and Hayden Trudeau raced around the bags for a triple. All three came around to score in the win.

Taquan Air recorded a couple hits off the bats of Sam Moore and Casey Styles. Both players hit singles.
