It’s Year 2 for the Ketchikan (Silver) Salmon Derby.

Dorcas Eleanor Dunmire, 78, died on Aug. 9, 2019, in Ketchikan. She was born Dorcas Eleanor Wesley on Sept. 15, 1940, in Metlakatla.
Geraldine Dix

Geraldine Dix, 46, died Feb. 7, 2019, in Klawock.

She was born Geraldine McNeill on April 14, 1972, at Mt. Edgecumbe.

She was a lifelong resident of Klawock and attended Klawock High School.

She was married in November 1997 in Craig.

Mrs. Dix was a member of the Klawock Heenya Corp, Sealaska Corp and Central Council Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska. She also was involved in the Klawock Volunteer Fire Department, Guardian Flight and Klawock Alaska Native Sisterhood Camp #9.

She enjoyed driving her car around Prince of Wales Island.

Mrs. Dix is preceded in death by her father, Jerome Peratrovich; mother, Trina McNeill; brothers, Raymond McNeill and Jerome McNeill; sisters, Roberta Moore and Elizabeth McNeill; adoptive father, Henry McNeill; and adoptive mother, Constance McNeill.

She is survived by her husband, Lester Dix; daughter, Trina (McNeill) Peratrovich; son, Robert McNeill; sisters, Jeriann Peratrovich and Henrietta Kato; and grandson, Louis McNeill.

A memorial will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Klawock ANB Hall, in Klawock, with The Salvation Army officiating.

Mrs. Dix's remains will be interred at Klawock Cemetery.
