EDITOR, Daily News:

Thank you, Alaskans, for resoundingly defeating the so-called “Yes for Salmon” Ballot Measure ! initiative which was nothing more than a veiled disguise intended to stop any form of development in Alaska and funded almost entirely by “dark money” supplied by multi-million-dollar outside environmental organizations.

Alaskans were not fooled and our votes yesterday should seen a strong message to those organizations that our state neither needs nor welcomes their input when it comes to the responsible development or our state and its natural resources. Alaska is a model state which already has some of the best scientists in fisheries and conservation, and has some of the strictest regulations protecting our resources in the entire world. Ballot Measure 1 would have slammed the door on Alaska’s economy.

To a bright and prosperous future for everyone in Alaska.
