The federal government shutdown has unexpected consequences.

EDITOR, Daily News:

In my letter to the Ketchikan Daily News supporting the candidacy of Alyse Galvin, I made disparaging comments about the record of Rep. Young’s staff serving in Alaska. I need to clarify that I in no way intended those comments to include the delegation’s Ketchikan staff, who have been nothing but valliant in serving Ketchikan’s citizens and interests over the years.

I also implied that Sen. Stedman was maybe less independent than he once was in the state Legislature. I have since had it pointed out several ways I am flat wrong about that. So to Sen. Stedman, and to those who have served in the Ketchikan Legislative Liaison office, I apologize.
