EDITOR, Daily News:

While I appreciate Mary Stephenson’s letter of support, I’m afraid I must correct one misperception.

While I have been involved from time to time in town community events, I have yet to volunteer my time to Ketchikan’s food lines and shelters. Much of my volunteer time has been given to assisting the Tongass Historial Museum in the creation of new exhibits.

The people who work at Ketchikan’s food kitchens and shelters are paragons of civic engagement and I have no desire to receive credit which I have not earned.
