Violet Katherine Booth, 86, died June 14, 2018, in Metlakatla.

She was born Sept. 24, 1931, in Metlakatla. She attended schools in Metlakatla and Mt. Edgecumbe.

She worked as a truant officer with the Annette Island School District, and worked at the Annette Island Packing Co. for many years. She served on the Metlakatla Tribal Council.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed smoking fish, picking berries, harvesting crab, picking seaweed and cockles, watching basketball games, and going to the beach.

Violet Booth was preceeded in death by her parents, William “Billy” Booth and Violet Booth; children, John Hudson and Garnett Cook; sisters, Jeannie Booth, Linda Savage, Charlene McKay and Lisa Booth; brothers, Jack Booth, William E. Booth, Tom Booth Sr. and Errol Booth.

She is survived by her children, Jackie Dilts and family, Milne Hudson and family, Larry Hudson and family, Ellen Booth and family, Conrad Hudson and family, Leslie Hudson and family, and Melanie Guthrie; sisters, Joan Collier and family, Clarissa Booth and family, Angie Anderson and family, Rowena Booth, and Betsy Booth and family; brothers, Gilbert Booth and family, Bramwell Booth and family, Steve Booth and family, and Frank Kirshner.   

A service was Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Presbyterian Church in Metlakatla, officiated by the Rev. Larry Emery.

Violet Booth's remains were interred at Oceanview Cemetery.
