Michael Sam Nickich, 63, died Jan. 3, 2018, in Annapolis, Illinois.  

He was born July 2, 1954, in Lebanon, Oregon, to Lucille and Donald Nickich Sr. He served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Nickich married his wife, Cindy, in Ketchikan. He resided in Ketchikan for 27 years, and retired as harbormaster for the City of Ketchikan.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and mining.

Mr. Nickich was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Donald Nickich Sr.; and brothers, James Francis and Wayne Francis.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Nickich of Annapolis; daughter, Angela Nickich of Ketchikan; son, John Nickich of Ada, Oklahoma; daughters, Melissa (Mark) Pickett of Pennsylvania, Andrea (David) Warren of Missouri, Laurie Hall of Missouri, and Tracey (Danny) Reed of Illinois; brothers, Cliff (Bonnie) Francis of Oregon, and Donald (Dottie) Nickich Jr. of Ketchikan; sister Karen (Paul) Fisher of Oregon; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Nickich’s remains will be cremated. There will be no services in Ketchikan.
