Playing for seventh place in the Clarke Cochrane Christmas Classic wasn't a easy task for the Wrangell Wolves and Navajo Prep Eagles. The Eagles won, 61-52.

Both teams got off to a slow-scoring start until midway through the second quarter.

Then point guard Trevor Miller for the Wolves knocked down a 3-pointer. Navajo Prep came down to score a bucket to tie the game at 20-20. With two minutes left in the second quarter, the Eagles' guard Trejan Clichee stole the ball to score two points for Navajo Prep; the Eagles were playing the Wolves very aggressively. Wrangell wasn't fazed by the trapping defense from the Eagles, and they continued to spread the defense.

Navajo Prep started to find its groove at the start of the third period by draining three pointers from Tyler Pete, Alfred Philbrick  and Clichee at 32-25 with 5:42 to play in the third.

The Wrangell Wolves still had some fight in them when Miller hit a huge three-pointer, and teammate Tynon Teat was able to dribble inside the paint and attack the Wolves' defenders to score two more. With a two-point lead, the Eagles' guard went to the line and made both free throws.

Tristan Yazzie of Prep was fouled driving to the basket, but missed the free throw.

In the final quarter, Miller hit a three-pointer for the Wolves. Lance Morris of the Eagles dribble drove to the basket to score two more for the Eagles. Then Riley Blatchley of Wrangell went down court to launch a three-pointer from the top of the key.

Treston Yazzie was shooting a 1-and-1, which he missed, but he managed to grab his own rebound to score another basket for the Eagles.

Teat of Wrangell scored two more for the Wolves to bring them within six points of tying the game, but Navajo Prep got another three-pointer from Clichee to make the score 55-47.

In the final minute of the game, Miller of Wrangell was fouled shooting a three-pointer and went to the line to make two of three.
