Perspectives: You can start over again

“If I could live my life over, things would be different. If I had one more chance, I'd do it differently.”

These are some of the statements we all have made and heard numerous times; not with hope, but with despair. The adage that says “Opportunity only knocks once” needs to be revised or amended to say: “When you miss opportunity's knock, run quickly and knock at opportunity's door.”

Your failure only ends one day, but your persistence can begin a brand new day.

The whole structure of the universe affirms that of another opportunity. The sun rotates the earth every 365 days, the moon every 28 days, and the earth rotate every 24 hours — all carrying the two-fold message: One, “There it goes,” and, turning the other direction, we can say, “Here it comes.”

Have you failed in many ambitions in the past? Have you fulfilled those resolutions made last year or last week? Have you become the person that you desire, or have you become more enslaved than before? The same God who designed the sunset brought about the sunrise. The same God who declared that disobedience is sin and death as the consequence, has also declared life to those who believe on his only begotten Son.

Get right with God, and he will turn “all things” to your good. Romans 8:28.
