Floyd Wallace Frank Sr.

Floyd Wallace Frank Sr., 91, died Sept. 3, 2017, in Ketchikan.

He was born to Edna Wallace Jason and David Jason on May 25, 1926, in Sukwan. He was the grandson of Jennie Sicksonnie Spuhn of Sukwan, and John Dexter Wallace of Howkan.

Mr. Frank served in the U.S. Army from May 15, 1945, to Dec. 2, 1946, at Fort Richardson, and received an honorable discharge.

He married Regina Nathan on Oct. 26, 1951. They were married 62 years, until her passing in January, 2014.

Mr. Frank resided in Hydaburg until 1965, when he moved his family to Ketchikan.

He worked as a shipwright for McKay Marine Ways, and helped install radio towers with RCA on mountain tops throughout Southeast Alaska. Mr. Frank worked on many construction jobs until he retired after he was in a severe car accident.

Mr. Frank enjoyed carving, drawing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

“He loved to take driving trips south to visit his grandchildren, who were the loves of his life,” his family writes.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Regina; daughters, Geraldine (Chicky) Frank and Rosemond Frank; parents, Edna and Jason David; and numerous sisters, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his sons, Floyd (Donna) Frank Jr., and Duane Frank; daughters, Claudette Frank, Debbie (Patrick) McLavey, Sharon E. Williams, Marsha Ramirez-Morris, Stacy White, and Kelly (Nick) Daniels; and grandchildren, Donovan (Cecilia) Frank, Christina (Carlos) Jarva, Misty (Brian) Rodgers, Lisa Smith and her sons, Jahlil and Jalen, Kori (Ben) Downey and their children, Kennedy and Constance, Dana Craig and her sons, Trevan and Cameron, Michael (Jennifer Ireland) McLavey and their sons, Dexter and Aizen, Antonio ‘Tony’ Romero, Adam McLavey, David McLavey, Cherish Bank and her children, Vivian, Victoria and Jerome, Tracey (Jake) Depoe and their children, Maili and Oso, Christina Buendia and her children, Jaydon, Jillian, Athan and Anna, Rudy (Angelina McDonald) Buendia and their children, Malaya and Cereniti, Edward Nix, Donte Nix and Brendon Nix, Isabel Morris, Brione White, Percy White, Rosie Daniels, Audrey Daniels and Mark Daniels.

A service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at the Church of God.
