Norman Melvin “Nick” Farstad, 86, died June 22, 2017, in Shoreline, Washington. He was born July 30, 1930 in Ketchikan.
John Larry Parsons

John Larry Parsons, 58, died Feb. 24, 2013, in El Dorado Hills, Calif..

He was born Oct. 11, 1954, in Van Nuys, Calif.,

From approximately 1960 to 1980, he resided in Oregon. He attended Canby High School in Canby, Oregon.

In 1980, Mr. Parsons moved to Ketchikan, where he was employed as an assistant harbormaster for more than 30 years until he retired in 2012.

He was married on Sept. 17, 1988, in Bothell, Wash.

Mr. Parsons enjoyed woodworking, vehicle restoration, motorcycles, travel, guns and flyfishing.

Mr. Parsons was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth L. Parsons.

He is survived by his wife,?Deborah Parsons of Ketchikan; daughter, Lindy (Parsons) Kemp of Ketchikan; sons, Tatum and Ryan Parsons of Portland, Ore; mother, Helen Parsons of El Dorado Hills; brothers, Ron Parsons of Oregon and Steve Parsons of California; and sister, Cindy Parsons of Calif.
