Sherry Lynn (Sher’e) Griffis

Sherry Lynn (Sher’e) Griffis, 59, died Dec. 25, 2012, in Ketchikan.

She was born Sherry Lynn Gann on May 31, 1953, in San Diego, and attended public schools through high school in Bend, Ore.

In 1983, she married Dan Griffis in Portland, Ore.

Mrs. Griffis resided in Ketchikan for the past 10 years. She worked in the fishing industry, and as a bartender and waitress.

She enjoyed beading, jewelry and crafts. She also served as a volunteer for Wee Blessings.

"Sher’e was known for her big heart, generosity and living life large," her family writes.

Mrs. Griffis was preceded in death by her father, Ray Gann.

She is survived by her daughter, Skyla Gann of Eugene, Ore.; mother, Bettie Meyer of Portland; brother, Bill Gann of Haines; and nieces, Kristen Gann of Haines and Heidi Warren of Sutherlin, Ore.

Mrs. Griffis’ remains were cremated, and the ashes were scattered at sea.
