EDITOR, Daily News:

Ketchikan City Council members:

The

Pioneer Home depends on the services offered by the outreach department

of the Ketchikan Public Library. Our activities staff is able to borrow

books, magazines and DVDs for an extended check out period and we use

the materials for group programs. More importantly, the services are

essential to our elders who cannot get out.

Several residents here

are no longer able to read regular print and take advantage of the

large print books and audio books provided by the outreach librarian. On

behalf of the Pioneer Home residents, please continue funding this

program during your budget considerations.

Sincerely,

ROBERT LEWIS

President, Resident Council
