Ronald A. Rusher

Ronald A. Rusher, 71, of Ferndale, Wash., died Oct. 31, 2012 in Bellingham, Wash.

Mr. Rusher was born in Sitka on Jan. 11, 1941, to Carl and Genevieve Rusher. He and his wife, Patricia Rusher, were married for 51 years.

"Ron loved the outdoors and was a true Alaskan," his family writes. "He believed in living life to the fullest and was never one to let grass grow between his toes. He had a passion for helping others and spending as much time as he could with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed."

Mr. Rusher was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert Rusher and Dexter Rusher.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Rick Rusher of Shelton, Wash., Randall (Carol) Rusher of Kent, Wash., and Ron Rusher Jr. (Rebecca) of Coffman Cove; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
