Rose Boguslawski

Rose Boguslawski, 94, died Nov. 18, 2012, in Ketchikan.

She was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Dunseith,?N.D., to Joseph and Rose Boguslawski. Ms. Boguslawski lived in North Dakota and Idaho before moving to Ketchikan in 1950. She would spend the rest of her life here.

Ms. Boguslawski worked as a nurse’s aide in the Ketchikan General Hospital nursery. She enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling.

"She was devoted to her family and her religious beliefs," her family writes.

Ms. Boguslawski was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe, Pete, Isadore, Felix, Frank, Edward, Leonard and John Boguslawski; sisters, Esther Ripley and Della Goodman; and nephew, James Ripley.

She is survived by her nephews, Steve Ripley of Ketchikan, David Ripley of Ketchikan and?Robert (Rashme) Ripley of Virginia; niece, Kathy Ripley of Ketchikan; great nieces, Niccole Ripley of Ketchikan, Monica (Brandon) Lent of Texas and Erika Ripley of Washington; great nephews, John Ripley of Ketchikan, Dillon Ripley of Ketchikan, Dustin (Natale) Ripley of Colorado and Damion (Misty) Ripley of Louisiana; great-great nephews and nieces, Lily, James, Kaden and Jeremy of Louisiana, Ray Jay, June, Eleese, Sincere and Alize of Colorado, Dakoda and Lukas of Ketchikan, Chole and Oliva of Washington and Hailee of Texas. She also is survived by her dear friend, Martha Bryan.

Her funeral will be held Nov. 30, 2012, at noon at Holy Name Catholic Church, with the Rev. Scott Settimo presiding. The family suggests memorial donations to the Ketchikan Salvation Army soup kitchen, where Ms.?Boguslawski "enjoyed volunteering her time."
