KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The Ketchikan Indian Community has named its tribal education director, John Brown, to serve as the new interim general manager.
The decision was announced Friday, with Brown heading up KIC while the search for a permanent GM continues. Three candidates have been interviewed so far, but no decision has been made, according to a KIC statement.
Brown previously has worked as KIC’s housing director, economic development director and most recently as its tribal education director. He also has twice served as interim KIC GM, according to KIC?spokesman Steve Rhyner.
Brown stepped in to replace outgoing KIC General Manager Debbie Patton, who is moving to Roseburg, Ore., for a health administrator job. Patton left KIC Wednesday and starts her new job on Dec. 1.
