Thomas Francisco “Cisco” Martinez Jr., 54, died Jan. 5, 2018, in Juneau. He was born Aug. 21, 1963, in Ketchikan.
John Joseph Burr

John Joseph Burr, 56, died in Ketchikan on Jan. 10, 2013.

Mr. Burr was born on June 6, 1956, in Ketchikan. He graduated from Ketchikan High School and worked on the Alaska Marine Highway System. He was also a fisherman and worked as an assistant welder when he was 15 years old.

He was a member of the Inland Boatmen’s Union and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Mr. Burr enjoyed fishing, boating and Native Alaska arts, including wood and jewelry carving and weaving.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Burr of Ketchikan and Bonnie McLeod of Hydaburg; uncle, Delbert Charles; brother, Kenny Jackson; and sister, Martha Carle of Hydaburg.

He is survived by his son, Chance May of Metlakatla; brothers, Pete Burr and Mark Wilson of Ketchikan and Charles Skultka of Sitka; friend, Becky Withrow of Seattle; sisters, Stella Burr and Terri Burr of Ketchikan and Sandy Johnston of Vancouver, British Columbia; aunt, Louise Charles of Juneau; and family, Rod McLeod, Lorraine Salaguinto, Alice Rae Ketah, Karen Barnes, Walter Charles, Delbert Charles Jr., Bonnie Charles, Janice Rosenthal, Debbie Vernie, Brock Charles, Maryanne Grant, Bonnie Carle, David Clark, Seward Clark, Frances "Amps" Carle, Donald Dean Carle, Richard Carle and Walter Ridley.

A?service will be held at noon on Jan. 19, 2013, at The Salvation Army.

Mr. Burr’s remains will be cremated.
